Pronouns are small words that can have a big impact. Incorrectly assuming a person's pronouns, just like calling them by the wrong name, can make them feel disrespected or hurt. By choosing to indicate our preferred pronouns in our email signature, Fair Food Network is showing our staff and our community that we acknowledge the natural diversity of human experience and are dedicated to being a part of a culture in which assumptions based on gender expression are not the norm.

*It is important to note that while many of us may choose to share our pronouns in our email signatures, no one should be obligated to share their pronouns, and choosing not to identify one’s chosen gender pronouns is preferable to potentially outing individuals or requiring them to use pronouns that are not affirming to them.
