Shakir Bralock

Michigan Good Food Fund
As Acting Director of Michigan Good Food Fund, Shakir leads the statewide loan fund, supporting food businesses that are increasing access to healthy food, creating good jobs, supporting local sourcing, and advancing environmental stewardship. He oversees the fund’s investment process and portfolio management, while also working closely with the Stakeholder Board to center community voice, vision, and accountability. Since 2021, Fair Food Network has served as the administrative manager for the Michigan Good Food Fund, anchoring its operations and strategic direction.
Shakir brings over 15 years of experience in financial services, including leadership roles as a banking center manager across southeastern Michigan. Most recently, he served as a loan officer at a Michigan based Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), where he worked closely with entrepreneurs to provide access to capital and technical assistance to support business growth and sustainability.
Shakir holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Marketing from Western Michigan University. He lives in Michigan with his wife and their two daughters, and enjoys music, sports, and traveling in his free time.
