People & Culture Manager

As People & Culture Manager, Melanie focuses on making it easier for the team to work efficiently and effectively while supporting a positive organization culture and enhancing Fair Food Network’s welcoming and inclusive workplace.

Melanie brings 20 years of administrative experience to the Fair Food Network, having roles in both the non-profit and for-profit sectors. Melanie began her administrative journey as a Road Warrior with Car and Driver Magazine in the early 1990’s, answering phones for the editorial staff and prepping test vehicles for proving at the Chrysler Test Facility. Over time, Melanie was recruited to assist Lore Rogers and Susan McGee as the Legal Advocacy Assistant for SafeHouse/Domestic Violence Project during the organization’s early years. Recently, Melanie was the office administrator for Resource Recycling Systems, assisting RRS’ remote staff with proposal and administrative needs as well as managing the Ann Arbor office.

Melanie holds a bachelor’s degree in Literature from Eastern Michigan University, and you can often find her at the local library, perusing the non-fiction shelves. Melanie enjoys vacations with her family, playing tennis, practicing yoga, swimming laps and taking long walks outdoors.  Melanie is also an avid cook, who feels most comfortable in the kitchen preparing meals. Melanie is a proud introvert who enjoys quiet spaces and awkward silences.
