John Stewart

John Stewart was graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science in Computer and Information Sciences in 1993. His career has been in technology with stints in non-profit research, academia, Internet service providers, Internet system suppliers, and autonomous mobile robotics for logistics and manufacturing automation. The bulk of his career has been at Juniper Networks where he was the 70th employee at what is now an US$8B market cap public company where he currently serves as a Director of Product Management. In his time at Juniper Networks he has contributed to the development and commercial success of marquis technology and products such as the M40, MX960, Junos, MPLS (including applications for traffic engineering, virtual private networks, optical integration, etc.), silicon for high-performance networking, and more.

John has served on the boards of the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (where he was chair of the management committee, member of the executive committee, and external representative on a CEO search committee) as well as Slow Food USA (where he was chair of the development committee, member of the executive review and strategic planning committees, and co-chair of an executive director search committee). John and his husband Ramon are involved in philanthropy in the areas of food justice, the arts, pro-equality politics, and LGBT equality in the sectors of media, legal advocacy, and community organizing.
