Fair Food Network’s Double Up Food Bucks Michigan program is a national model for nutrition incentives, helping SNAP participants bring home more fresh fruits and vegetables.
Since 2009, we’ve helped launch and strengthen similar programs across the country. Today, we co-lead the Nutrition Incentive Hub, a national resource center supporting nutrition incentive and produce prescription programs in nearly every state.
We make it easier to buy healthy, local food.
Our programs show how matching dollars spent on locally grown fruits and vegetables leads to better health for communities and more money staying local.

Double Up Food Bucks
Double Up helps people using the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly known as food stamps) buy more fresh fruits and vegetables. It also supports local farmers and food retailers by keeping money within the community.
When SNAP shoppers go to a participating store or farmers market, they receive a dollar-for-dollar match on the purchase of fresh fruits and vegetables.
The Double Up Model
The Double Up program is a triple win: more healthy food for families, better business for farmers, and a boost for local economies. Fair Food Network support has helped to implement Double Up as a uniform, consistent brand in a variety of locations — from community farmers markets to local grocery stores — in 25 states.
