Hien Lam

Designer

Hien (like the ketchup with the z) is Fair Food Network’s designer, bringing creative design solutions to its family of brands.

Born to immigrant parents who fled the Vietnam War, Hien grew up in San Jose, California. He attended the University of Michigan where he majored in History and minored in Buddhist Studies. He then completed his Master’s in Healthcare Administration from Saint Louis University and spent a couple of years working for the St. Louis VA Health System. His path eventually led him back to Ann Arbor in 2011, where he worked at a healthcare consultancy. Since 2018, Hien has worked full-time as a graphic designer.

Hien has built brands across various industries from healthcare to cloud security. He has given talks and conducted workshops for The Lean Startup Conference, Zingerman’s, 100K Ideas, the American Medical Association, and the American Institute of Graphic Arts on topics related to branding and design. In addition to working at Fair Food Network as a designer, Hien also owns a branding + Webflow development studio called Huck Finch that creates the simplest path towards a brand that isn’t embarrassing.

Outside of work, Hien can be found around Ann Arbor with his wife and at home with his cat, Bacon.
