Cleveland Urban Agriculture Project
This 2012-2013 collaborative project helped early-stage growers in Cleveland gain the tools and knowledge needed to launch and sustain an urban farm.
Our focus was on high tunnels, also known as hoop houses, unheated structures that protect produce from weather and extend the shorter Midwestern growing season.
With our partners, we provided hands-on learning through training builds as well as classroom-based workshops that covered all topics related to year-round high tunnel production and marketing.
This project was made possible with support from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and Wells Fargo & Company, along with the USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service, the Ohio State University Extension, and the Federation of Southern Cooperatives.
