While our vision is national, our work and impact is always local. In addition to our direct investments, we also convene and develop statewide impact investing collectives that work at the intersection of food, health, and economic justice.
Michigan Good Food Fund is a statewide lending network that invests in food and farm entrepreneurs, offering flexible financing and tailored business assistance to grow a more resilient, inclusive local food system in Michigan. Michigan Good Food Fund focuses on entrepreneurs whose access to capital has been historically limited because of systemic barriers.
As a founding member and the administrative manager, we facilitated a Stakeholder Board that brings together entrepreneurs, business assistance providers, community partners, food system practitioners, and lenders. Together, the Stakeholder Board sets the vision of success, investment policies and priorities, informs strategy, and maintains accountability—ensuring investments respond to community-identified needs.
