Double Up Food Bucks
As Program Coordinator, Sara drives growth of Fair Food Network’s Double Up Food Bucks program to reach more farmers and communities.
Sara has diverse experiences working in development and public health in India, Uganda, and Turkey. In her previous role she helped refugees secure food and shelter, as well as access educational and medical services. Her most recent foray into fair food included working as a Sustainable Agriculture Apprentice at Michigan State University’s Tollgate Farm and Education Center, where she grew her passion for bringing healthy food to families.
Sara graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she studied Anthropology and Global Studies. She pursued further studies in Social Anthropology at Istanbul University. Now that she’s back in her hometown of Detroit, she is excited about growing good food and making a mess in the kitchen with her partner and Chief Chef.
