Maxine Onstott

Program Ambassador
Double Up Food Bucks

As a Program Ambassador, Maxine provides community education about Double Up Food Bucks at Flint’s participating grocery stores and farmers markets. As a Double Up user herself, Maxine explains firsthand how the program works to community members and shoppers, helping them to better understand how Double Up can help stretch their SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or food stamps) food dollars to buy more fresh fruits and vegetables. She increases program awareness and provides valuable guidance to new customers navigating the program.

Maxine lives in Flint with her family. She is dedicated to providing community service in Flint through special needs youth education advocacy, outreach, and engagement at Flint Recovery Corps., as well as working with the Pediatric Public Health Initiative promoting health and recovery resources through the Flint Registry.
