Lauren Schaumburg

Program Coordinator
Double Up Food Bucks

Lauren coordinates the Double Up Food Bucks program at farmers markets and grocery stores in rural Kansas. With a background in advocacy for rural and farming communities, Lauren is passionate about building urban-rural partnerships to strengthen local food systems.

Lauren’s interest in food systems was seeded through travel, where she experienced diverse food cultures from Capetown, South Africa to Oaxaca, Mexico. She is particularly interested in how food intersects with power and access. Lauren brings organizing and advocacy experience in support of family farmers and food safety. Prior to joining Fair Food Network, Lauren developed educational programs around local food and healthy eating for young people and their families in Columbia, Missouri.

Lauren is a graduate of Missouri’s Columbia College. She lives in Kansas City.
