Emilie is fueled by big ideas, good causes, and the power of storytelling.
As Communications Director, Emilie is responsible for driving Fair Food Network’s brand strategy, storytelling, media engagement, and communications across channels. Working in close collaboration with the President and program teams, she develops strategic opportunities to communicate the breadth and depth of Fair Food Network efforts to tranform how audiences experience and understand our work and its impact.
Emilie brings more than 10 years’ experience partnering with nonprofits and foundations to advance high impact social change. Previously, she worked with Weber Shandwick’s Social Impact team in support of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. She also led editorial efforts and provided communications technical assistance to grantees across the country for a national W.K. Kellogg Foundation healthy food, active living initiative. Most recently, Emilie served as the first communications director at Washington STEM, a statewide education nonprofit, where she spearheaded organizational branding and established a robust communications infrastructure including digital presence, social strategy, media engagement, and multimedia content production.
Emilie graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Michigan and has a master’s degree from the University of Chicago. She is thrilled to be back in her home state after many years on the west and east coasts. She lives in Ann Arbor with her husband and two sons.
