One Dime at a Time In an effort to encourage shoppers to utilize reusable grocery bags, Whole Foods Market developed its “One Dime at a Time” program: an incentive that pays customers ten cents for each reusable grocery bag brought in and used to bag their groceries. This program offers customers the option to donate their ten cent bag refund to a designated non-profit organization.

21 projects selected statewide to receive more than $1 million in federally-funded grants   LANSING – Today, Michigan Department of Agriculture (MDA) Director Don Koivisto announced Michigan will receive more than $1.4 million in federal dollars to create, enhance, or expand agriculture development ventures across the state.

Let’s face some facts. We live in a state in which many cities are ridden with fast food and cheap corner store goods, but lack accessible nutritious food. I understand what you’re probably saying to yourself: “This kid is about to go all Food, Inc. on me.” Though I admire your guess, it’s not completely correct.

Starting this week, bridge card recipients can stretch their dollars at several farmers markets in Washtenaw County. The Ann Arbor Farmers Market in Kerrytown, along with its counterparts on the west side of town and in Ypsilanti, have partnered with the Fair Food Network to bring the “Double Up Food Bucks” program to Washtenaw County.
